HAIKU POEM

HAIKU POEM  HAIKU POEM is a type of short form poetry originally from Japan. Traditional Japanese haiku consist of three phrases that contain a    " cutting word" Japanese in a 5, 7, 5 pattern, and a seasonal reference.  However, modern haiku vary widely on how closely they follow these traditional elements. Haiku originated as an opening part of a larger Japanese poem, known as a  renga . These haiku that were written as an opening stanza were known as  hokku  and eventually writers began to write them as their own stand-alone poems. Haiku was given its current name by the Japanese writer  Masaoka Shiki  at the end of the 19th century. Modern Japanese haiku are also said to increasingly vary from the tradition of 17  on  or taking nature as their subject. In Japanese, haiku are traditionally printed as a single line while haiku in English often appear as three lines. There are several other forms of  Japanese poetry  relat...

HOW MUCH

Image
How much do you have? That's the world we living in today. Bribes and success have wed, Husband and wife they walk the streets. How much are you willing to pay for that dream Job? University degree no longer a key But who you know speaks volume. Women dive into their bosses beds for promotion. Students undress for their lecturers, Just to get that A or B grade. Men kill to earn a place in society. Everything has a price they say. Where are we going? Sure I am, God falls on his knees  Burst into tears at the sight of our actions. We have dragged his name in the mud. The poor continue to wallow in poverty. While a privileged few in suits prosper. Let's be concerned about the fate of the future. Before we all drown in corruption. @ChipoCM

MY LOVE STORY

Image
Some time ago in the month of April,  my world got turned upside down. For the first time ever, I got to fully understand the meaning of perfection as my eyes Beheld a being I thought would only ever exist in my dreams.  To say she’s beautiful would be an Understatement. What she is, is far more precious, she Transcends all definitive literal labels. I was smitten at first glance, It felt like a fire had been set ablaze in my chest.  Well, I imagine it’s what Adam must have felt when he first saw Eve in Eden. Elegance embodied, proverbs 31 personified … she is some kind of special. Sadly, there is no happy ending to this story. A cruel twist of fate robbed me of happiness, leaving me feeling empty. An emptiness that has eaten me down to my soul,  A Pain like nothing I’ve ever felt before. Hurt so deep it shook the very marrow out of my bones.  But funny enough, All it takes is one look at me for you to see that. No amount of pain will make me change the way I fe...

UNCLE KIM You sprained my ankle What crowned your mind uncle? Did you become forgetful Of how you had always been thoughtful? Lately lame left ankle of mine Will walk with worry every time Recalling sweet emotions Which are now tattered curtains You initiated it all Calm down Kneel down Apologize To the most high and not me For what you extracted He'll restore if detected Don't feel irritated. @Mazdainks

ALLITERATION

Image
Alliteration Definition Alliteration is derived from Latin’s “ Latira ”. It means “letters of alphabet”. It is a stylistic device in which a number of words, having the same first consonant sound, occur close together in a series. Consider the following examples: But a better butter makes a batter better. A big bully beats a baby boy. Both sentences are alliterative because the same first letter of words (B) occurs close together and produces alliteration in the  sentence . An important point to remember here is that alliteration does not depend on letters but on sounds. So the  phrase   not knotty  is alliterative, but  cigarette chase  is not.    In  literature ,  alliteration  is the conspicuous repetition of identical initial consonant sounds in successive or closely associated syllables within a group of words, even those spelled differently.  As a method of linking words for effect, alliteration is also called...
