WHEN THE VISITOR ARRIVED

WHEN THE VISITOR ARRIVED

First, it seemed like a fantasy.

Later, it became a reality.

Students had to leave school,

With those in the university,

To limit the rate of fatality.

Our places of worship are silent,

Silent and no one to tell to be quiet.

You could only hear the echoing sounds of the empty chairs;

Far away, you could hear the hum of the hummingbirds.

Deserted! our crowded places became empty.

Our banks, markets, recreation centers, cinemas, stadiums...

Became arena for monkey.

How can one quickly explain?

How can one explain the death of loved one?

The experience of our medical personnel is a bigger one.

The cemetery suddenly became a larger one.

Between human race and death lies the virus.

We hope nothing in the rate of death but a minus.

Our economy is in shambles.

An invisible enemy we couldn't scramble.

To the hoodlums;

The miscreants;

The scammers;

The fraudsters;

The hackers, it's a jungle.

To the vulnerable,

It's more of a struggle.

Africa is suffering.

America is bleeding.

Antarctica is falling.

Asia is staggering.

Australia is weeping.

Europe is mourning.

Oceania is crying.

The globe is dying.

Scientists are speechless.

World leaders are powerless.

Knowledge seems useless.

Everything becomes meaningless.

I hope we learn our lesson;

A great lesson when out of prison,

When out of prison after the visitor leaves,

After the visitor leaves and our land is healed.

We would sober for the dead,

And learn to rely on God.

To rely on God for everything we do,

For everything we do while we live on earth.

In the history of human race,

We shall never forget the arrival of the visitor.
